Bio
Growing up in a nominally Christian home, Eugene falsely believed that he was a Christian throughout most of his adolescent and college years. But in his senior year at the University of California, Berkeley (from which he graduated with a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering and a B.A. in Molecular Cell Biology with a Biochemistry emphasis), God in His infinite mercy convicted Eugene of his sin, drew him to believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and saved him from eternal separation from Himself.
Two years after graduation from college, Eugene felt the call into ministry, and began his theological training at Fuller Theological Seminary. In subsequent years, Eugene would serve in various ministry contexts, including youth ministry, college and young adult ministry, and as English Ministry pastor within the Korean-American church.
However, after many years of ministry, Eugene became convicted of his lack of spiritual maturity and sound Biblical wisdom. He rededicated himself and enrolled at The Master’s Seminary, from which he graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 2009.
Upon graduation, Eugene served for many years as a lay leader in the local church, primarily as worship leader and Bible study teacher, but also in single adult and men’s ministries. He has had the joy of exercising his gift of teaching as Adjunct Professor at The Master’s University and as Bible and Science teacher at Northridge Community School, as well as owner/instructor for 20 years at Keystone Academy, an after-school tutoring service specializing in standard test preparation and academic tutoring.
By God’s grace, Eugene has served at Granada Hills Community Church as Associate Pastor since 2015.
Eugene’s favorite pastimes include hiking a good trail, watching a good movie, and sharing a good meal.
